CN Group hosts First Annual Partnership Programme Conference

Just seven months after the launch of the CN Group Partnership Programme, representatives from CN Group and six of the partner companies met in Prague on 4th and 5th December 2014 for the first Annual Partnership Programme Conference. There are already seven full members of the programme, as well as three candidate members in the process of joining. In addition to the Partner representatives, CN Group executives, project managers and team leaders took part in the day and a half programme of Keynote Addresses, technical and business presentations, and panel discussions.

In the weeks since the conference, CN Group has been busy following up with the Partners, with meetings in Prague and at customer sites. These first meetings are being used to define the tailor-made benefit programme meeting the unique needs of each partner. In addition, we have agreed the themes of a number of free Workshops for partners.

The December conference itself took place in the historic Kajserštejnský Palace, nestled under the walls of Prague Castle. Delegates also visited CN Group’s Main Office near Wenceslaus Square and went on a tour of the building to see the newly re-decorated offices. At the end of the first day the entire conference travelled in the CN Group tram to dinner on the banks of the River Vltava with a spectacular view of the Charles Bridge and the Old City.

Among the major themes of the conference were the move of the nearshoring of internal development from complimentary to mainstream; security and identity management in daily business life; the practicality of integrating geographically separated teams in a single Agile project; and the centrality of good communications to successful outsourcing. Two technical presentations looked at the pros and cons of the major development platforms – Java and .NET – and at the challenges of organising testing in Agile projects. In the final session of the conference, results of the first group of students to pass through the six month programme of the CN University were released and one of the graduates spoke about his experience on the course.

But perhaps the most significant activity throughout the conference, was the intense networking that took place during meals and refreshment breaks. Partners who had never met each other before were soon sharing experiences, swapping ideas, and in one or two cases, making arrangements to meet again to explore mutual cooperation. This alone has proven the value of the conference and added extra value to the CN Group Partnership Programme.
